Through the study of Religious Education at Holy Family, we aim to promote
- The dignity and freedom of every person as creatures in the image and likeness of God.
- Knowledge and understanding of the Catholic faith and life.
- Knowledge and understanding of the response of faith to the ultimate questions about human life, its origin and purpose.
- The skills required to engage in examination of and reflection upon religious belief and practice.
In addition to the above, we aim to inspire and encourage the beliefs and values which are lived out in the daily life of the Catholic school.
At Holy Family School, we follow the Come and See Religious Scheme. Through the study of the topics, children develop a greater awareness and knowledge of Christ and His teachings. Religious events are celebrated throughout the year and children develop a greater knowledge and understanding of key celebrations in the life of the Catholic Church. Children also learn about other faiths in order to develop a greater understanding and respect for other people’s faiths and beliefs.
Children participate in daily prayers and acts of collective worship which may be part of a key stage or whole school assembly.
Our Catholic faith is at the core of everything we do at Holy Family and is shown as we: pray together, play together and learn together.

Support for Sacramental Preparation
In Year 4, children will make their First Confession and First Holy Communion. Parents and Carers are supported through a programme called ‘With You Always’.
Our Parish Catechists and Fr Michael organise this programme and Mrs Evans (RE Co-ordinator) works very closely with them too.
