Wider Opening of School during Covid-19

As we start to re-open our school to a wider group of children we have been very busy preparing for this to ensure we open when it is safe to do so.

In order to support parents in their understanding of what, as a school, we have done to minimise the risks I have attached a copy of our schools Risk Assessment. Advice has been sought from Knowsley Local Authority(LA) and from Corporate Health & Safety. Our LA quality assured the document and governors agreed the document.

I hope the Risk Assessment goes some way to reassuring all parents about the steps taken to support children’s return to school.

COVID_19 Risk Assessment Holy Family Cronton v 3.3

Holy Family School closed on Friday 20th March and re-opened on Monday 23rd March to provide childcare support for the children of critical key workers. It has been lovely to see some of our children in school and a privilege to support the work of the NHS and other key services.

I want to thank all the staff at Holy Family for keeping school open and for attending on site in these difficult days. This has involved all the school team of: teachers, teaching assistants, admin staff, Site Manager, cleaners, kitchen and welfare staff. We thank all our staff for their commitment and support.

We have been keeping in touch with all our children through our learning portals ‘Seesaw’ and ‘Tapestry’ and appreciate all the lovely comments we have been receiving from children and parents.

Please stay safe during this difficult time. By us all following the guidance of social distancing, self-isolating, hand washing and only making those journeys that are essential we are all doing our part to help the NHS deal with this national emergency.

We pray you all keep well and look forward to a time when we are all reunited.

Mrs Hannah
